The initial inspection and subsequent Periodic inspection and testing of the fixed installation will establish whether the installation is safe and fit for continued use.

 Frequencies of the periodic inspection for the fixed installation will depend on factors as the type of premises and the use the installation recieves.

Guidance note 3 of BS7671 : 2008 recommend the following intervals:

Domestic Dwelling :       10 years or change of occupant.

Commercial Property :  5 Years

Caravans :                         3 Years

Licenced Premises:        1 Year

Swimming Pools:             1 Year
